LILOAN, CEBU — What began as a livelihood turned into a launchpad for dreams, as six former and present caddies of Liloan Golf were honored for completing their college degrees—an inspiring highlight of the 6th Chairman’s Tee awarding ceremony held on May 17 at the Woodlands Pavilion.
The recognition was led by Rafaelito Barino, Chairman of Duros Group, and Fe M. Barino, President of Duros Group—both founders of the Rafaelito and Fe Barino (RFB) Foundation, which has long supported youth empowerment through education.
The honored graduates, who worked as caddies while studying, include:
• Mae Abella Patigayon – Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in Social Studies
• Camil Donor Bucag – Bachelor of Public Administration
• Chery Mea Barbadillo Tariman – Bachelor of Public Administration
• Kristy Ann Talisic Patigayon – Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in Social Studies
• Jeancel Bergado Patigayon – BS in Business Administration, Major in Financial Management
• Irish T. Urbano – BS in Hospitality Management
In recognition of their achievements, each graduate received tokens from the RFB Foundation. The Barinos also took the occasion to launch the Liloan Golf Scholarship Program, designed to support more caddies in pursuing higher education.
The event resonated as more than a celebration of golf; it was a celebration of grit, gratitude, and the life-changing power of education.
